Bellalago Veterinary Hospital offers a progressive new approach to veterinary care. Our Preventative Wellness Program embraces a focus on preventative medicine based on the specific life-stage of your pet. Each patient is assessed individually based on factors such as species, breed, age, and environmental challenges. Next we offer recommendations for prevention, nutrition, and diagnostic work-ups appropriate for your pet. These recommendations are in line with our Standards of Care and align with those published by the American Animal Hospital Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Association of Feline Practitioners.
Our role is to educate you on those procedures and medications especially beneficial for your pet. This allows us to be more flexible with our recommendations, and gives you more control of your pets' healthcare.
These recommendations are bundled in order to save you money and called our Preventative Wellness Packages. In other words, you can save money by getting your pet all the recommended services to keep him/her happy and healthy!
The key to Bellalago Veterinary Hospital Wellness Program is an emphasis on the biannual health examination. Each year when your pet comes in he or she will receive two comprehensive physical exams and age appropriate ancillary diagnostics (such as blood pressure screening, parasite tests and blood work) to screen for early signs of disease. Remember that six months is like 3.5 dog/cat years! A lot can change in that timeframe so getting comprehensive physical exams every six months helps catch things early, prevents unnecessary suffering, gives us more options for treatment, and saves money!
For participants in the Bellalago Veterinary Hospital Wellness Program, standard vaccinations are included in the Preventative Wellness Package. Additional health monitoring such fecal tests, heartworm, and regular viral testing are also included. Patients with health-related concerns will be recommended more advanced diagnostics when needed. More frequent re-evaluations will most-likely become necessary for those pets with ongoing illnesses. Luckily, the Preventative Wellness Packages include unlimited scheduled office visits!
Our Core Care plans are great for younger, healthy pets. They hit the basic needs of most pets. Pet-Lovers are great for those pets who are starting to age a bit. They're great for keeping an eye out for those conditions which may start later in life such as kidney disease, liver issues, or allergies. The Pet-Lovers Plus plans are great for older pets or pets with more advanced health issues. The plans are designed to help monitor for the common issues in older pets and catch them early. Younger pets with health issues such as seasonal allergies will benefit from the discounts too!
