Vet Tech Appreciation Week - Ashley

Veterinary Technician Appreciation Week - Ashley

This week we’re celebrating our Veterinary Technicians as part of National Veterinary Technician Week. These are the highly skilled and trained veterinary nurses which perform treatments, take samples, and assist in surgery behind the scenes. While you may not see these team members in action, without them working behind the scenes we’d have a hard time keeping the place going! We’re going to feature each one of our three wonderful Veterinary Technicians this week. Please show them the love that they often miss out on being behind the scenes!

The first technician we’re going to feature is one many of you have met before, Ashley! Ashley is our youngest and newest Veterinary Technician. Many of you know her as she has served as a Veterinary Assistant until recently. Her promotion coincides with her nearing completion of her Veterinary Technology Associate in Science Degree from St. Petersburg College. At that point, she’ll take her Veterinary Technician National Exam and become a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT).

She has also completed her training to become a Certified Veterinary Assistant from Animal Behavior College and has also become a Certified Veterinary Nutritional Advocate. Believe it or not, she is a full-time student and a full-time team member! While she is the youngest Vet Tech on the team, she is also one of the longest-serving team members overall! She has been part of the team since opening day! Since then, she has worked tirelessly to raise through the different team positions and has qualified for and held every position except veterinarian! Her growth as a team member is a testament to her hard work and character!

In her free time (what little of it she has), she loves going on cruises, hanging out at Disney or Universal, watching movies, and spending time with her dog, Jeremy, and her significant other, Michael. Michael is also working on completing his Veterinary Technician degree (Although he isn’t part of the BVH team, he often uses the hospital for his school work and has even earned a nickname around here. Ask Ashley about it.).

As anyone who has worked with Ashley will tell you, she’s an incredible young woman! She is fastidious in her work and always puts the needs of the animal first. We consider ourselves lucky to work beside such an amazing person!

Please show Ashley some love by leaving her some great comments. You’re also welcome to share her post with your friends and family so the whole world will know just how great she is!
